Celia Allison

I grew up in rural North Canterbury, first studying physiology before doing a complete turn around to study graphic design. I started living in Lyttelton in the late 1980s. Since then I have come and gone but my business Cecily/ Moa Revival has always stayed! I am an illustrator/ business woman with my cartoon Cecily probably my most notable creation. I have designed merchandise for many organisations, including Te Uaka. I chaired the original Lyttelton Community Arts Council. Together with my husband George we run Doubtless Conservation, a charity with over 60 volunteers involved in trapping, track and hut work in the Lewis Pass.

I am passionate about the Lyttelton Museum and am really keen to see the building happen. As well as designing merchandise for the Museum which I sell to local shops I have played a large part in the Friends of the Museum, organising events like the Quiz Evenings and a Bridal Path walk. I would like to see my role as continuing to run the merchandise and organising events, particularly fund raising ones. My involvement with the museum has increased over the years and now that I am semi-retired I feel its time to go on the committee.

We live in a wonderful community and it will only be enhanced when a stunning museum adorns the main street.
